Our Community
Founding Organizations
The Commodity Genome Project was founded as a contribution to the global commons from Context Labs, the UNFCCC Climate Champions, and Xpansiv, in partnership with One Earth.
Community Standards
In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
CONSORTIUM GOVERNANCE
TECHNOLOGY
Central to the mission of CGP is the establishment of a global, open sourced, interoperable technology for all stakeholders associated with the commodities and environmental ecosystem.
ADVOCACY
We will promote entrepreneurship, innovation, transparency, efficiency, and technology to all stakeholders participating in the global CGP ecosystem.
EDUCATION
We will educate creators, consumers, industry, and entrepreneurs about the benefits of open source technologies and support their applications to accelerate positive climate-related outcomes.
POLICY
We will encourage and guide the creation of standards for data collection, data reconciliation, file formats, and contractual best practices.
MARKETS
We will work across commodity market participants to create strong (forward looking) price signals that drive investment in sustainable practices throughout global supply chains.
